Birdman review
My Rating: 8.4/10
IMDb Rating: 7.9/10 Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 92% Metacritics Rating: 88/100 My Favorite Quotes 1. "A thing is a thing, not is what said of that thing". 2. "Get the duck outta here you fucking parasites." - Jake 3. "I pretend just about everywhere else, but not up there." - Riggan A Wild Movie What a different movie. I mean I say this often because I have t seen movies like these before. Films willing to take a risk usually come through with a reward. Just like this one did. Sure it has creative ideas and visual effects, but without the amazing acting it would have been a bust. Michael Keaton and Edward Norton were beast, some of the greatest acting yet. I don't fully understand the parts with his superpowers and his hallucinations of bird man. I'm sure it's some form of symbolism like he is pretending to be something he's not or some shit. Either way it added something new to a rather dull plot. The scene that I felt was the strongest was the scene between Michael Keeton and the journalist from New York Times. It was so real and passionate. Without spoiling the ending I saw it the whole way through. I disliked how the whole thing with Edward Norton just disappeared into mid air. There was no conclusion, no confrontation after he saw his daughter making out with him like what? I'm sorry, but this movie just felt much to long. There were some unnecessary things that could have been taken out to reduce overall time. Still a great and unique film. |
