My Rating: 5/10
IMDb Rating: 7.5/10 Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 87% Metacritics Rating: 72/100 My Favorite Quotes 1. "Hold on. You have to slow down. You're losing it. You have to take a breath. Listen to yourself. You're connecting a computer bug I had with a computer bug you might have had and some religious hogwash. You want to find the number 216 in the world, you will be able to find it everywhere. 216 steps from a mere street corner to your front door. 216 seconds you spend riding on the elevator. When your mind becomes obsessed with anything, you will filter everything else out and find that thing everywhere." - Sol Robeson Unlike any movie I've seen It's so different in the way they introduce the character and his ambitions. It throws you directly into his dilemma of trying to find the answers to the universe through some 200 digit number. Which I find extremely far fetched and way over my head so it wasn't very intriguing to me. It was just straight up wired. And the whole thing about this company selling him a brain chip for his knowledge is kind of thrown into it for a conflict. There was no real problem except his whole self reasons. I liked the Main characters acting and the ending scene has deep meaning. As for the black and white coloring for symbolism I'm not a huge fan of. Except in To Kill a Mockingbirds case. So it was a definition turn off and in no way do I see this as a masterpiece, original yes, but not a masterpiece. Don't waste your time unless you have seen every other movie on the planet. |
