My Rating: 8.9/10
IMDb Rating: 6.4/10 Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 63% Metacritics Rating: 55/100 My Favorite Quotes 1. "I was just cleaning it. You want some?" - Grandpa 2. "Yahtzee!!!" - Grandma 3. "Would you mind getting in the oven to clean it?" - Grandma So the plot is actually pretty original seeing as most horror movies now Adams are paranormal it's a relief that a slasher killer horror movie can actually be creepy and not just scary due to pop ups. So the plot is as follows: two children go to live with their grandparents whom they have never met for a week, while their mother goes for a vacation. When it hits 10:00 PM that is when shot hits the fan. The grandparents begin to act possessed and do random shit without any reason for it. The director M. Night Shamalan does a great job of creating a pretty good back story to the characters without going to flashbacks. The characters are really well done and well acted in my opinion. They are smart, funny, and most importantly realistic and they also have very good chemistry together. The film is very creepy due to the dark plot and constant randomness of the grandparents there is also enough pop up scares, but not to many. What really ties the whole film together is the ending sequences it starts to make sense and is actually unpredictable. A all around very good horror movie made in 2015. |
