the lazarus effect review

I have seen much worse. One late Saturday Night I was alone and looking for something scary to watch so I flicked the Lazarus Effect on. Knowing it was high budget and Olivia Wilde was starring in it along side my Favorite rapper Donald Glover I was expecting a Descent film. That is exactly what you get with this. A basic plot of a crew experimenting on bringing people back from the dead gone wrong. It ends up opening the door to hell in the form of a women. The plot is actually slightly deeper than meets the eye and the twist in the end is kinda interesting. So yah it wasn't completely cliche. And the thought of people returning from the dead has always spurted my interest. In terms of it being a horror film I'm not so sure because it was not very scary other than 1 or 2 pop ups. The acting was very good all around, I almost forgot that Evan Breen is also in this movie. American Horror Story for the win. It was an all around descent movie, better that what the critics say at least in my opinion. |
