I don't know? So for the plot of this film.... A 31 year old woman who waits table for a living decides she wants to become a boxer. So she stumbles into a gym and its renowned coach and with no knowledge of boxing hopes to become a world champion. The film starts off somewhat slow. It picked up once you got to know some of the characters like Jay Baruchels character Danger who in my opinion was pretty much the it factor for this film and Hilary Swank and Clint Eastwoods leading roles produced a believable scenario between a coach and student. Morgan Freeman's first person narrative added a nice touch on top of this award winning film. The realism in terms of rags to riches was definitely inspiring, but the one punch knockouts lead to bad fight scenes and cheesy sound effects. The main characters family were complete ass holes throughout the entire film which added a good vs evil element other than the fights. The whole broken neck cheap shot was so unexpected and fucking retarded at the same time. It was the only thing that separated this fighter film from all the others. Unfortunetly I have watched IP Man 1 & 2. Those two films compared to every other fighting film makes other films look like shit. Still this was descent, but in no way would I give it an Oscar. |
