This movie is straight fucked up Being the big Jake Gyllenhaal fan that I am and psychological thriller movie fan I had to give this one a spin. It was definitely an interesting movie leaving one major question to be asked throughout the whole movie and that is why is this man so scared about finding a person who looks exactly like him? I would be stoked if I found someone who looked and sounded like me. So that was kind of frustrating to watch, but I assumed that it must mean something that will be revealed near the ending of the movie. But if you carefully watch the film and maybe watch it a second time you will understand that Adam is the only real character. Which I feel was actually quite predictable and I could see it coming from the get go. Fortunately the movie articulates it in a way that is pretty masterful. I really like how the spider seen throughout the movie is a strong use of symbolism and his affair. Which follows him wherever he goes. There may be some plot holes that I didn't quite understand like how he was in a car accident, maybe it was just a coincidence that another car accident happened because I'm sure it was just symbolism because the broken glass symbolizes the spiders web. The movie hints along the way which I found very well made, but it was still much to predictable. The ending was pretty good and scared the shit out of me. There was not much to the dialogue and the acting was good, but Jake was under used. Still a pretty good thriller. |
