The Grand Budapest Hotel Review
My Rating: 8/10
IMdB Rating: 8.1/10 Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 92% Metacritics Rating: 88/100 My Favorite Quotes: 1. "You're looking so well, darling, you really are... they've done a marvelous job. I don't know what sort of cream they've put on you down at the morgue, but... I want some." - M.Gustave 2. " Keep your hands off my lobby boy." - M. Gustave 3. "That fucking faggot." - Dmitri Is it really good enough to be a Oscar Nominee? My answer is a most definitely yes. This movie has amazing features from the Acting all the way down to the corny animations. Ralph Fiennes A.K.A Lord Voldemort does one of the best acting jobs I have seen in a while. He is funny, serious, and the fact that he can memorize such a mind blowing dialogue blows my mind. With the supporting acts of Edward Norton as the Head police officer, Adrien Brody as the arrogant son in it for the money, and lets not forget Tony Revilori as the Lobby Boy. Without each and every one of these roles being played to perfection the movie would have been very dull. What also stands out is the well written dialogue that pertrays European talk to the tid bit. The humor is very spectacular and kept me giggling throughout the entire film from the awkward conversations to the almost cardboard special effects. It felt very much like a Monty Python movie. I think the film kinda fell short in trying to captivate the audiences feeling with the death of concierge and the bell boys wife. The plot was I bit cliche but that is to be expected with a comedy. What I love most about this film is how original it is. Yes this movie did deserve the Oscar nominations it was given, except I believe Ralph Fiennes and Tony Ravioli should have both been nominated for best actor in a leading role and best actor in a supporting role. |
